Summer Solstice
Brimstones are having a terrific time in the woods.
They are mastering their fire striking skills and this week they set about collecting kindling in preparation for the Marshmallow Challenge. The Golden Boot challenge was also introduced.....can you tie yours?
This week's Woodland Wonders included the sights of butterflies and bracken; the sound of silence and the laughing yaffle (green woodpecker) and the sweet smell of the 'honeychuckle' (honeysuckle) in the hedgerow.
We sang a song about boa constrictors and played 'Bucketball'. We also talked about the summer solstice and why it happens and some children made their own woven suns which you will be able to see at Arts Week.
