New pond liner and dipping platform installed!
Despite the heavy rain making ground conditions very difficult, the Living Forest team have successfully installed our dipping platform and laid a new pond liner. These were both major expense items, so this work would not have been possible without the generous funding we received from Sussex Lund.(A collaboration between the High Weald AONB Partnership and the Lund Trust, a charitable fund of Lisbet Rausing and Peter Baldwin.)
At present, the site resembles a mud bath.(A certain member of staff has got stuck and fallen in the mud on more than one occasion, so we really appreciate the efforts of the Living Forest team who have had to work in these challenging conditions!) Once ground conditions improve, paths will be installed to allow easy access for the children, a wildflower meadow area will be sown, oxygenating plants will be added to the pond and native marginal plants re-established around its edges.
