A special visitor for Class 4
Class 4 were really lucky to meet a very special visitor this week. Eileen Webster, the great-grandmother of one of the pupils came in to speak about her experiences during WWII - our topic for the term.
Eileen was a member of the Land Army during the war, and shared some great stories about what life was life for the women that were left behind to keep the country running! The children were fascinated to learn about her time on the farm and about the occasion when a doodlebug exploded nearby.
Huge thanks to Eileen for coming in and spending time with us.
"It was a very inspiring talk!" (Year 5 pupil.)
